Ancud Gulf, located in the south of Chile, is the inlet that divides the Isla Grande de Chiloé from the rest of the continent. The lagoon is of periglaciar origin, because it was formed by the retreat of the San Rafel Glacier, on the top of the Campos de Hielo Norte.
Nowadays, it is a marvelous place to visit, because it let us contemplate the beuaty of nature of this area and see the ice falling down of the San Rafael Glacier. By this, we will enter to the lagoon, at about 2 Kms. From the Glacier. We will make a tour on a boat between blocas of ice fulls of life and color if the weather allows us. We will get even more close to the San Rafael Galcier and then we will depart to the Quitralco fjord.
