Quito - Misahuallí - Lodge
Breakfast at the hotel. We will set out very early in the morning from Quito city towards the Interoceanic Highway, passing by Papallacta. During the trip to the Amazon, we will see the abundance of landscapes while we start going down the mountain to the Amazonia. We will arrive at Tena, and then we will make a detour towards the Puerto Misahualli and the Napo River.

The Napo River is the main tributary of the great Amazon River. The Napo River has its source in Jatun-Yacu River and collects the waters of other rivers formed in the Cotopaxi or Quilindaña Volcanoes and in the meltwater from the glaciers of Mt Antisana. Before reaching the Amazon, the Napo River receives the waters of another river: The Mulatos.

After its confluence with the Anzu River, it changes its name for Napo and, from there on, it becomes a navigable river. We will stay the night in a typical lodge of the Amazon region.

Lodge
Breakfast at the hotel. We will enjoy two days going deep into the middle of the Amazon region. We will see the forests with its scenery of exuberant greenness, and we will take a canoe to find the rain forest, where there are many attractions such as the native indigenous communities and the mythical shamans.

The shamans were healers. In many groups, they were more important than the military chief, which shows the control of the church over the state. The shamans also acted as priests in certain occasions. The latest tribes counted on the most primitive shaman–healers (sighted people), and later on shaman-priests.

When watching the flora and fauna, we will be surprised to see huge ceibo trees, bright butterflies, multicolor birds and exotic insects. Upon our arrival at the lodge, we will be welcomed with a typical dish.
