Cultural and Historical City Tour around Manaus
Breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, we will start the city tour around Manaus. We will visit its most important attractions such as the Municipal Market, where we will enjoy the day of the Amazonian people; Heliodoro Balbi Square (Police Square), Rio Negro Palace, learning about some of Manaus history; Amazon Theatre, symbol of the height of the rubber boom.

The Amazon Theatre was opened on December 31, 1896, being the most important work built at the peak of the rubber boom and the most important cultural and artistic heritage. This building works as an opera house, where people can enjoy local artistic attractions, both national and international. We will also visit the Republic Square, and so learn about the architectonic history of buildings and monuments.

Rio Negro Palace was the residence of a rich salesman up to 1917, when it became the Amazon Government quarters up to 1996. Today exhibitions and chamber recitals take place there. Adolpho Lisboa Municipal Market was built on the shore of Negro River with a clear art nouveau style and opened in 1882. The architecture of the building can be compared to Las Hales market, in Paris, which has already disappeared. Nowadays it is a shopping center of local products.

Confluence of Negro and Amazon Rivers/Solimões
Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving from Manaus Port, we will see the left bank of Negro River. We will leave behind the city of Manaus and Educandos stream, its pillar-like houses and its Municipal Market, Manaus Modern Fair, and traveling gas workstations. In the convergence of waters, we will observe the confluence of Negro and Solimões Rivers that form the Amazon River.

If we are lucky, we will be able to see Tucuxi Dolphins (Sotalia Fluviatalis) and Pink Dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis). Then we will go to Lake Janauary Ecological Park so as to get to know the igapós (flooded forest) and igarapés (streams) travelling by motor boats. We will see the amazing typical flora and fauna of the region, specially the exotic vitoria regia.

Note: In summer, there is generally low water level. If so, the boat trip to Janauary is replaced by a trip to Tierra Nova Island to see latex extraction and cocoa plantations.

Iracema Falls and Urubui Rapids
Breakfast at the hotel. We will depart from the Tropical Ecoresort hotel at mid-morning heading for the city of Figueiredo President, located more than 100 km from Manaus, to get to know the Iracema Falls and Urubuí rapids. They are set on sandy rocks and have one of the most important groups of ponds of water where the forest and the cascade combine a natural and exuberant harmony due to the variety of flora and fauna. We will visit the Santuário Fall. Finally we will go back to Manaus.

Panoramic Flight of the Amazon Forest by Hydroplane (Optional)
Breakfast at the hotel. This is an optional trip. We will depart from the Manaus Tropical Hotel by Cessna hydroplane, which has a capacity for 4 passengers. The flight will last 4.30 hours. We will fly over the Amazon Forest, Anavilhanans Archipelago, beaches, forest hotels, flooded forest, Tropical Hotel and Ponta Negra in 1 hour’s time. We can fly up to 2.30 hours and watch freshwater dolphins which we can bathe with. We can also see the confluence of Negro and Amazon River waters. Once we have finished our flight, we will go back to the starting point, the Tropical Hotel Manaus to head for Manaus.
