Salta – Walking around the City
Welcome at the Airport of Salta and transfer to the hotel. We will walk through the beautiful city of Salta, La Linda, (the pretty one). We will visit the Cathedral, San Francisco Church, the Town Council and the Northern Historic Museum, the Craft Market and San Bernardo Hill.

San Francisco Church is a magnificent temple of the Franciscan order that has an exquisite architectonical style and ornamental fine details. The Town Council was built in different stages, and shows baroque expressions. In the Craft Market you can buy silverware or textile mills. San Lorenzo is the summer village in Salta par excellence.
Safari to the Clouds
Breakfast at the hotel. We will enjoy a “Safari to the Clouds” covering three main routes in the Argentine Northwest: First, the “Way to the Clouds” along the railroad of the Train to the Clouds passing by La Quebrada del Toro (Bull’s Ravine) up to San Antonio de los Cobres.

Second, La Puna, crossing it along Route 40 up to Salinas Grandes in Jujuy. And finally the way down Cuesta del Lipán (Lipán Hill) up to the picturesque town of Purmamarca at the foot of Cerro de los Siete Colores. We will get back to Salta in the afternoon.

Note: The Train to the Clouds is an alternative.
Quebrada de Humahuaca
Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit La Quebrada de Humahuaca. Along the way we will pass by Volcán, Tumbaya, Maimara with its Paleta del Pintor. In Purmamarca town we will enjoy Cerro de los Siete Colores, and walk along the town and its Craft Market.

Then we will head for Tilcara where we will visit the archeological market and the well-known Pucará (former Indian fortress surrounded by cactus and polychromatic mountains). Then we will visit Huacalera and Uquía, getting to Humahuaca, an ancient Indian city. We will walk around the town and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will get back to Salta through the cornice road, where we will watch the ecosystem in the Yungas (high-altitude cloud forest).
Salta
Breakfast at the hotel. We will have the day off after the first days of intense activity walking around the Calchaquí Valleys. Those who do not want to rest may do some optional activity.
The Calchaquí Valley Circuit
Breakfast at the hotel. We will start the classic the Calchaquí Valleys Circuit of Salta on special vehicles. We will go uphill Cuesta del Obispo (Bishop’s Slope), crossing Los Cardones National Park up to an ancient town called Cachi.

Along a picturesque path we will skirt the fertile valleys of Calchaquí River and cross the outstanding Quebrada de las Flechas (Arrows Ravine), passing through the small towns of Molinos and San Carlos. We will rest in Cafayate.
The Calchaquí Valley Circuit - 2° day
Breakfast at the hotel. We will start the day tasting the best wines of Cafayate. The vitiviniculture is an agricultural activity in the Calchaquí Valleys. We will continue our trip to the ancient settlement of the Quilmes Indians, which will walk around.

We will go back to Salta city enjoying the marvelous scenery of Las Conchas River with its fascinating rock formations.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport of Salta. Welcome at Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires. Transfer to Ezeiza International Airport.
