Transfer IN OUT APT/HTL/APT

Mendoza - San Rafael
Reception and transfer from Mendoza Airport to San Rafael in the south of the province. In the afternoon we will do a city tour in San Rafael visiting the main attractions of this beautiful city, from the commercial area and Civic Center, passing by the museum, Elena and Fausto Burgos’ house, Hipólito Yrigoyen Park, Santa Cruz Greek Theater, up to one of the most traditional wineries in San Rafael. (This city tour is conditional on to the arrival time of the flight to Mendoza.)

Atuel River Canyon and Valle Grande (Big Valley)
Breakfast at the hotel. Whole-day excursion to the Atuel River Big Canyon and Valle Grande. We will leave from San Rafael, passing by Cuesta de los Terneros (Calves Slope); we will stop at Mirador San Francisco de Asis (San Francisco de Asis Viewpoint). Then we will head for El Nihuil, where we will have lunch. Then we will enter the Atuel River Canyon to enjoy a stunning landscape resulted from the wind and water erosion, forming sculptures like the colorful geographical figures that show shapes such as El Castillo (the Castle), El Fantasma (the Ghost), La Catedral (the Cathedral), etc. We will do trekking into the Canyon. The Atuel River goes deep into the multicolor rock eroded over millions of years, offering us a unique spectacle. We will get to Valle Grande where we will have the opportunity to do some optional adventure activities such as rafting along the Atuel River, etc. We will spend the night in Valle Grande since we have days with adventure activities to come.

Caverna de las Brujas
Breakfast at the hotel. We will go to Malargüe City heading for Caverna de las Brujas. Along the way, we will pass by Sierra Pintada (Painted Mountain Range), Cuesta de los Terneros, San Rafael Viewpoint, Diamante Salt Flats and El Sosneado Valley. We will do middle difficulty trekking in the cavern. We must pay an entrance fee to the reserve, where helmets and torches will be provided.

The cavern is famous for the stalactite and stalagmite presence (formed by water filtering) of different shapes, colors and dimensions. The stalactite and stalagmite formation takes 1,300 years. La Caverna de las Brujas is millions of years old. Then we will go to Malargüe, where we will stop for lunch (optional) and stroll along the city. Return to San Rafael.

Los Reyunos
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free. In the afternoon, we will go to Los Reyunos. During the trip we will visit a winery of the area and do some wine-tasting. We will also know the Galileo Vitali and El Tigre dams, and finally Los Reyunos up to the Yacht and Fishing Club. Return to San Rafael.

El Sosneado – 4x4 Adventure
Breakfast at the hotel. We will go to El Sosneado Hostel, where we will be welcomed with a tasteful asado (starter, goat, asado and dessert). Then we will ride on 4x4 Land Rover accompanied with a tourist guide; and go around Atuel River to reach El Sosneado Lake and Cueva del Indio (Indian Cave), witnesses of our ancestors and thus our culture. We will also get to the ruins of the famous Termas Hotel el Sosneado with open-air thermal water pools that keep its curative properties. We will visit a mineral water spring and fossil mounts with a great number of shells and weeds. Then we will get back to San Rafael.

San Rafael - Mendoza
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will head for Mendoza city. In the afternoon we will do a city tour around Mendoza city. The tourist circuit of the city and its surroundings gives you the opportunity to have contact with a modern city known by its trees, wide sidewalks and its cleanliness. This trip shows the history and culture of a town founded by colonizers over four centuries ago.
